Top Knobs is celebrating 25 years of excellence. Tkick off the milestone year, Top Knobs will unveil its new collection, Graceat the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, February 19 through 21, at booth: N2763.

“Grace is a celebration of our most popular designs over the past 25 years,” states Christine Zimmer, Top Knobs Product Manager. “We’ve taken some of our most successful pieces, stripped them down and crafted a collection of hardware that is nothing short of spectacular.”

Within the 5 boroughs of New York lies a treasure trove of streets and neighborhoods that exemplify a timeless sophistication that draws people in. That ageless beauty is what inspired the new designs. The Grace collection is comprised of 276 pieces in 6 series: Barrow, Henderson, Kent, Pomander, Minetta and Riverside.

“We wanted to deliver a collection to our loyal customers that would showcase some of our finest pieces, only reinvented to translate into more modern-day designs,” states Zimmer. “Grace is, without a doubt, an extraordinary collection that embodies an aesthetic that will be relevant for years to come.”

Top Knobs is proud to enter 25 years of business with Grace.

Top Knobs Brixton Series Shines in This High Contrast Kitchen Design

In Glen Ellyn, Illinois Brandie McCoy of Ember and Brune led a unique kitchen renovation to create a space that mixes Parisian glamour with classic refinement. With its new open layout, the kitchen took on a life of its own to make cooking, serving and socializing much easier for the owners who love to entertain.

In her design, McCoy juxtaposed dark blue and white throughout the kitchen. “This small space incorporates a lot of finishes without being too busy or overwhelming,” she told us. She used dark blue base and pantry cabinets, white wall cabinets, dark walnut-finished oak floors, natural white oak floating shelves, white stone countertops and backsplash, and brass and iron metal finishes. “It seems like so many contrasting tones, but they all live in perfect harmony here!” McCoy said of the remodel.

“Dark navy has become popular, as well as high contrasts,” says McCoy of current kitchen trends. “People are becoming increasingly more receptive and interested in multiple finishes in the kitchen, going beyond the usual wood island/white perimeter combo.”

When it came time to choose the cabinet hardware, McCoy opted for Top Knobs Brixton pulls and rimmed knobs in the new Honey Bronze finish. “We loved the quality and sleek, simple style of Top Knobs. Also, the finish matched our ‘champagne bronze’ plumbing fixture perfectly!” McCoy explained.

Lastly, McCoy points out that, “the backsplash is actually marble tile, cut to the size of subway tile. It has the same modern feel as subway tile, but a subtle difference that is stunning.”

Thank you Brandie, for sharing your design with us!

Mixed Finishes Add Unique Style to a Modern Lake House Kitchen

When the owners of a single-family lake house in Wrentham, Massachusetts decided to remodel their home, the couple wanted something they had never seen before. With the help of Top Knobs cabinet hardware, Amy Kearns of Amy-Lynn Interiors gave them just that.

“The clients, they were a complete joy to work with. Their love for textures, patterns and their new lake views were clearly stated in every centimeter of this space.” Amy told us. Her modern take on lake house chic, with blue cabinets, Top Knobs pulls and beautiful wood floors gave this space the unique look her clients wanted.

Near the completion of the design when hardware options were being considered, Amy and her clients had originally selected a different Top Knobs collection. However, after her office got a sample of the new Hollin back plate and Kinney pull from the Lynwood collection, they quickly changed their minds.

“We texted an image of it to the client and said ‘do you love this as much as we do? Black on island and brushed on blue?’ And immediately she called us and said she and her husband agreed,” Amy says of the hardware change.

In the end, Amy used the Top Knobs Kinney pull and Hollin back plate in brushed nickel and black to complete the space. “Mixing metals makes our heart skip a beat! Ironically enough, we ordered one extra black pull and the client fell in love with the idea of using that to mark her rubbish. She thought it was a clever way of telling guest where to find it.”

The mix of Top Knobs back plates and pulls in mixed finishes created a great opportunity to do something unique, yet on trend, to bring the clients’ personal style into the kitchen.

“We really like what Top Knobs is about, they’ve got something for anyone who has a sense of style. It’s up to us as the designer to take the style and bring it to life, and the hardware plays a huge role in that. We always say this is the jewelry for the room.”

Top Knobs Completes Two Kitchen Renovations on HGTV’s Brother vs. Brother

This season on HGTV’s Brother vs. Brother, Jonathan and Drew take on San Francisco’s real estate game. Each brother buys a house sight unseen, to completely remodel throughout the season. Each episode, the brothers compete by renovating the same room in their respective houses. Their renovations are judged anonymously by industry professionals, and the winner is rewarded while the loser is stuck with the renovation clean up. Both brother’s design teams requested Top Knobs as the decorative hardware to serve as the finishing touch of their designs.

The second episode of the season focused on kitchens. Drew worked on transforming his dated 1970’s space into a modern California kitchen, while Jonathan took a risk transforming a dingy kitchen into an eco-chic, family friendly space.

Jonathan’s eco-chic kitchen featured a natural bark wall, an oversized island, high ceilings, and unusual black cabinets with contemporary Top Knobs fixtures. The Top Knobs Modern Metro Tab Pulls in flat black added a touch of sophistication and style to the kitchen.

Jonathan also converted an otherwise useless space near the kitchen into a small yet stylish powder room. Here, he used the Top Knobs Hopewell collection to complete the space.

While foundation and sewer line problems put Jonathan over his original budget, the remodel was still a success. He explains, “This is one of the best kitchen renovations I’ve ever done. The unique black cabinetry provided a sleek backdrop for brightly colored accents.”

On the other hand, Drew’s modern California design featured beautiful vaulted ceilings, a concrete dining table, and floating shelves. However, the wow factor in this kitchen came from the beautiful counter tops, appliances and natural wood cabinetry.

The wood cabinetry and lower cabinets were made complete with Top Knobs decorative hardware. With so many different styles and colors used throughout the space, Drew opted for a Modern Square Bar Pull to pull the design together.

Leanne and Steve Ford of HGTV’s Restored by the Fords were brought in as guest judges for the kitchen showdown. While they admitted it was a very close call, Jonathans classic yet modern kitchen design and unique black cabinets them over. For his win, Jonathan was awarded an exclusive Star Wars and Lucas Films tour, while Drew was left with the renovation clean up.

Aspen Collection Helps Transform an Arizona Fixer-Upper Kitchen

When it came time for Chicago native Michele from Hello Lovely Studio and her husband to choose a second home for vacation and retirement, picking the location was simple. With year-round warm weather, open space and family living nearby the couple purchased a 4 bedroom Mediterranean style cottage in Arizona. While the home was practically like new, it lacked the serene style and relaxing atmosphere they craved in a vacation home. Cabinet hardware from the Top Knobs Aspen Collection helped transform the once plain kitchen into a French-Nordic inspired paradise.

Arizona Home Shot

Having previously renovated her primary residence, Michele was confident that she could transform her kitchen all on her own. To start, the couple salvaged the old maple cabinets and painted them a soft European blue-grey color. Since the cabinets stood short in a room with 9 foot ceilings, they added risers to the cabinet tops and installed crown molding for dimension.

Michele traded in her dark colored appliances for bright, stainless steel. The once mottled brown laminate countertops were replaced with Quartz countertop  accented by Calacatta gold marble wall tile.

To aid in the chic, yet serene, charm of the kitchen Michele partnered with Top Knobs and installed knobs and pulls from the Top Knobs Aspen Collection. 3-inch Aspen Cup Pulls were used on the lower drawers, while Aspen Potato Knobs were used on upper and lower cabinets. The subtle look of the collection added much needed style to the once bare cabinets.
