Normandy Collection featured in HOUZZ Kitchen of the Week

Designer Charmean Neithart had a challenge in front of her when she accepted a Pasadena California kitchen project. Her client, a couple and their twin girls, wanted a functional floor plan that allowed for two people to work side by side in a 10-by-11-foot kitchen.

The result is a bright, open, colorful kitchen inspired by Italian pottery. It is a design where counterspace and pantry storage are the priority. Hand-painted terracotta tile, a farmhouse sink, and blue painted cabinets accented with Top Knobs Normandy knobs and pulls complete the look.

The rustic Top Knobs Normandy Collection includes a variety of birdcage and twisted wire designs – 7 pull, 11 knob, 2 ring pull, 2 drop pull and 4 different backplate styles. For this project 3 3/16″ Normandy Square Twist T-Handles in Pewter finish were used on upper cabinets to add a touch of olde world style. The drawers and bottom cabinets feature Normandy square twist pulls with backplates in a variety of sizes. The decorative hardware’s Pewter finish suits the age of the home and looks beautiful with the blue paint.

This kitchen was selected as the HOUZZ Kitchen of the Week. Read more details of complete kitchen remodel on HOUZZ.

Appliance pulls from Top Knobs make an impact in a bright kitchen renovation

Top Knobs Appliance Pulls make a big statement when a Virginia couple upgrades their basic cabinets and dusty walls for an open layout kitchen with a personal touch.

Working with designer Stephanie Dickens, the couple was able to eliminate a short peninsula that separated the cooking area from the dining area in this 260 sq. ft. kitchen in Alexandria, Virginia. The renovation created a more spacious layout that allows for natural light to brighten the room.

Bright pink walls, the clients favorite color, were used to perk up the mostly white kitchen. A large French-door refrigerator was paneled to match the elegant raised cabinets throughout the room. Top Knob’s Chalet Appliance Pulls from the Chareau collection added a touch of personal flair to the couples matching appliances.

Transcend Collection brings a modern look to a colonial kitchen

With help from designer Sarah Robertson, interior designer Suzanne McGrath set out to re-design her home kitchen with the primary goal of re-vamping the space to feature an expansive storage capacity in an open and welcoming way.

screen-shot-2016-09-07-at-4-19-24-pmThe renovation, featured on today.com by Houzz contributor Mitchell Parker, included custom cabinets to hold every item imaginable, including a recessed paper towel holder, a mixer shelf, a spice drawer, a custom knife block drawer and slots for baking sheets.

Even more unique is a wide spice drawer to the left of the range to organizes jars. “You can read the labels and don’t have to reach for ones high up,” Robertson says. “It’s a great setup right by a range. When I redo my own kitchen, I’m going to put in two.”

Light blue subway tiles were used as a backsplash to provide a bit of color to the 1920s Colonial-style home. To modernize the look, hints of stainless steel appliances and cabinet hardware were used throughout the kitchen as well.  “It could be interpreted either way — modern or traditional. That’s what I like about it,” says Robertson.

The custom cabinets were complete with Ascendra knobs and pulls from the Top Knobs Transcend collection.

An Ecofriendly Renovation Aided by Top Knobs

Top Knobs was recently featured in a Houzz article written by contributor Becky Harris. The article entitled, “Family Kitchen Smartens Up With a New Ecofriendly Renovation” features a family with a passion for sustainability in Portland, Oregon.

The family hired Encircle Design and Build to help convert their kitchen into an ecofriendly space with some help from Top Knobs cabinetry hardware.

Before the transformation, the kitchen seemed disconnected to the rest of the house due to the dated cabinetry and wall colors. Because of limited cabinet space, pots and pans hung from the ceiling and clutter filled the countertops, making it an unfriendly environment for their two young children who loved spending time in the kitchen.

The new countertops that were installed were 30 inches wide instead of the original 12. New corner cabinets and a wraparound countertop allowed for additional storage space and a place for the children to finish their homework while their parents cooked.

To complete the look, designers used Top Knobs Square Knobs and Bar Pulls from the Nouveau III collection. The Square Knobs are 5/8″, while the Bar Pulls are 5 1/16″. The flat black finish accented the blue cabinetry perfectly, giving it a modern yet homey look.

To fulfill their promise of sustainability, all previous appliances were donated to a homeless shelter while the salvageable wood was donated to another nonprofit. Any items that could not be reused were responsibly recycled.
