When the owners of a single-family lake house in Wrentham, Massachusetts decided to remodel their home, the couple wanted something they had never seen before. With the help of Top Knobs cabinet hardware, Amy Kearns of Amy-Lynn Interiors gave them just that.

“The clients, they were a complete joy to work with. Their love for textures, patterns and their new lake views were clearly stated in every centimeter of this space.” Amy told us. Her modern take on lake house chic, with blue cabinets, Top Knobs pulls and beautiful wood floors gave this space the unique look her clients wanted.

Near the completion of the design when hardware options were being considered, Amy and her clients had originally selected a different Top Knobs collection. However, after her office got a sample of the new Hollin back plate and Kinney pull from the Lynwood collection, they quickly changed their minds.

“We texted an image of it to the client and said ‘do you love this as much as we do? Black on island and brushed on blue?’ And immediately she called us and said she and her husband agreed,” Amy says of the hardware change.

In the end, Amy used the Top Knobs Kinney pull and Hollin back plate in brushed nickel and black to complete the space. “Mixing metals makes our heart skip a beat! Ironically enough, we ordered one extra black pull and the client fell in love with the idea of using that to mark her rubbish. She thought it was a clever way of telling guest where to find it.”

The mix of Top Knobs back plates and pulls in mixed finishes created a great opportunity to do something unique, yet on trend, to bring the clients’ personal style into the kitchen.

“We really like what Top Knobs is about, they’ve got something for anyone who has a sense of style. It’s up to us as the designer to take the style and bring it to life, and the hardware plays a huge role in that. We always say this is the jewelry for the room.”
